God has a message for men and women, boys and girls TODAY!  He has very clearly communicated that message through His written word, which we call the Holy Bible.  Here are some of the things that God has to say concerning:
Man's Ruin
While we may tend to compare ourselves with others around us as to just how fit we may be for heaven, we must always remember that it is God's heaven and He alone will set the standard for what can enter.
He says concerning heaven in Revelation 21:27, "And there shall in no wise enter into it anything that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie." Come and hear the Gospel Message

Romans 3:23 tells us, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God."
So the Bible clearly tells us that we are all sinners who do not deserve to be in heaven, in fact because of our sin we are completely unfit for heaven.
God's Remedy
But thankfully God provides a way in which men and women can be saved from their sin and be made fit for heaven. 
In I Timothy 1:15 it says, "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners."
Romans 5:6 says, "Christ died for the ungodly."
So we can see that the death of Christ provides all that sinners need for salvation.  Forgiveness of sins is available because Christ has paid for sin by His death on the cross.
Man's Responsibility
God demands two things from people if they are ever going to come into the good of the salvation that He offers: REPENTANCE and FAITH
Repentance
Acts 17:30  "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:"
Faith
Acts 16:31 "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house."
This verse explains man's responsibility very clearly:  Acts 20:21 "Testifying both to the Jews, and also to the Greeks, repentance toward God, and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ."
